New Canadian customs requirements affecting commercial imports
The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) will soon implement new customs clearance requirements for all commercial importers, transforming the assessment and collection of tariffs and taxes on commercial goods imported into Canada. This is part of the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) multi-year plan aimed at promoting trade compliance and streamlining business processes between CBSA and importers through the CARM Client Portal (CCP).
